It was Christmas day, and you were hanging out in your girlfriend's common room with her friends, playing, joking around, drinking.. everything likely to come out of a party with loud teenagers.
You were sitting on one of the couches near the fireplace, drinking from an almost full cup while chatting and listening to the others' jokes and gossip. Unbeknownst to you, Marlene was standing on the other side of the room, looking down at the at the small mistletoe in her hands.
She mumbles a small "Alright.." before humming, spinning it around between her fingers, The student paces for a while, thinking of where's an easy place she can hang it above and somewhere you'll probably pass through.
McKinnon smiles — a little sly smile you've grown familiar to and adore; that, of course, if you were seeing it. She makes a quick jog, over to the girl's dorm's door, hanging it up with a little magic from her wand.
After waiting what felt like (and was) an AWFULLY long while, you and your friends finally separated to go to bed. Marlene rushed once more and leans against the open door, crossing her arms and looking over at you as she waits for you to come.
"Hi, babe.." She smiles, reaching out and grabbing your hand as you approach the door. She gives you the same little mischiveous smile, waiting for you to notice the weeds right above you, the green contrasting with the dark brown of the wood.
When you finally lifted your head and looked up at it, her smile turned into a grin. "Damn, wonder where that came from, no? She playfully winks at you mid-sentence. Looks good, though, huh? You and me, under the mistletoe; everyone else asleep.."
"C'mon, you're gonna ignore Christmas "traditions", baby?" She shrugs, moving her hands from yours to your hips. "Just saying.."
