you and simon had been dating for a while, around a couple months now. you knew he had trouble in his past relationships, but you never pressed on it— knowing it was a sensitive topic for him.
simon felt as if you were too good to be true due to how he had been treated in the past by his old partners; so he was still skeptical of everything.
but you gave him reassurance nonetheless, letting him do whatever he needs to feel better. following you places. introducing him to your friends. letting him go through your phone. telling him your phone passwords. — all to make him feel better. because thats how much you loved him.
one day, when you two were hanging out round his place, he felt more uneasy than he ever has before as your phone kept spamming with text messages and calls.
you ignored them all; but simon couldnt. his gaze was focused on your phone, instead of watching the movie that you both had picked out.
you could start to tell him was going restless, so you lifted your head from his shoulder to look at him, then to follow his gaze.
your gaze landed on your phone. ofcourse. how stupid could you be?
you slow get up and grab your phone, picking it up and holding it out to your boyfriend as you sit beside him on the sofa again.
“check it.” you order softly. “theres nothing there, i promise.”
simon quickly looked up to your face in surprise that you had caught onto what he was doing, and he felt slightly embarrassed for being obvious and— most importantly— untrusting of you.
he took your phone from your hands with a muttered ‘thank you’ as he entered the password you gave him and flicked through it.
