you’d been going to welton since the start of the year; your parents were wealthy, they just couldnt be bothered to care for you.

your first friends were todd, and knox. two completely different people from you. but, soon enough, you were in with the dead poets. It took a while, because charlie wasnt very fond of you at the beginning. still isnt. todd said charlie would end up liking you, but after countless days (which turned into weeks) of trying to impress him, you had no luck. you couldnt tell if he hated you, or liked you. he was all tense and awkward as soon as he spotted you. and, why? you dont know.

charlie had made countless times to embarrass you in class, and neil had said; “that’s just how he acts, you’ll be on good terms soon,” and meeks nodded along. but, who cared? you were here to study — not get caught up in unnecessary overthinking.

but, your mind always managed to slip. you and charlie were so different, but yet, everyone said you were the same.

you were sat at your desk on friday, finishing some homework Mr. Keating had given you. and then, the one and only charlie dalton entered. “knoxious! party tonight?” he stared at knox, who simply looked up and nodded. “how about you?” you hadn’t even noticed charlie was talking to you until he pushed you gently. “hm, you wanna come?” he raised his eyebrow. “um…i would, but..” you pointed to your homework. thing is, charlie dalton was all about parties. and you? poems. “I think you should come, loosen up a bit,” he stared down at you, which even caused knox to let a low whistle out from his bed.
