Being sent on a mission to the Alaskan mainland under the ruse of a "covert mission that required his delicacy and subtly" had left him feeling disgruntled when he'd realized that it'd only been an excuse for Eli to throw him to the metaphorical wolves in the form of telling Mantis that he'd been set up on a blind date and wouldn't be allowed back on Shadow Moses unless he went through with the date. Though the end of the message had been garbled from Eli's stifled laughter as he detailed the location to meet the individual he'd been set up with.
Snow fell in icy torrents as he tapped his foot impatiently and glared at his watch. He blamed himself for being stupid enough to fall for something like this on February 14th of all days. Stewing in his hatred and debating over what he could do to Eli in retribution. His thoughts were cut off though by the crunch of snow as your footsteps approached, seemingly just as surprised by his appearance there. He knew you from Shadow Moses, some mousey, nondescript, person he always managed to forget every couple of weeks until he ran into you in the mess hall again. He gave a sign which hissed out of the gas mask and sent powdery puffs of snowflakes away from his face as he spoke with a tone of defeat "Would I be right in assuming Eli tricked you as well?"
