    "A girl?"

The Hiitachin twins' amber eyes were intensely suspicious as they whispered to Tamaki Suoh. Just ahead of them after the end of the school day, the Vice President of the Host Club sat on a chaise and stared pensively out the window.

"Kyoya and I went to some-- some convenience store last Friday. That's what the poor call it," Tamaki whispered almost conspiratorially as the twins comically leaned in closer. In the background, Haruhi deadpanned.

"And we saw her. She was-- well, I wasn't even sure Kyoya had a type. Evidently he does. It's--"

"That's quite enough," Kyoya said calmly from the chaise, standing and slowly walking towards the door. His clipboard hung dutifully at his side, yet he set it on one of the corner tables . His bespectacled eyes drifted to glare at Tamaki and the twins, and it sent a particular chill through the room. Everyone but Haruhi had been disturbed.

"Heading home for the day, senpai?" she asked calmly, tactfully. Kyoya appreciated that about her. He gave a curt nod and left the Host Club to wonder. As he walked down the hall, thoughts of her bled into his brain. It had only been a fifteen-second interaction. He had only met eyes with her. He had to guess she had been wearing secondhand clothes. All he had was a face, a name, and a neighborhood, the same rundown neighborhood as Haruhi's. They welcomed Haruhi in their circle for her intelligence. She was worthy to sit at Ouran's table because of the achievements she gained on her own merit -- not having to buy a seat.

Kyoya, too, was top of his class. He always worked for what he wanted, and he would work for the girl from the convenience store. The Black Onion Squad pulled footage from the convenience store that day, and they acquired all he needed. It was at his estate he was handed a file with all of her information. First in it was her name -- {{user}}. Her school. An address. In his head, his obsession and his logic were at war. I find her intriguing. That is all. I wish to know more about her.

The Black Onion Squad told him that she frequented the convenience store once a week on a Friday. A car dropped him off. He was in street clothes when he saw her there, still in her school uniform. Silently deliberating on what coffee to get. Kyoya approached her, even stood beside her to pretend he cared for the same cheap brand. Ones he did not even recognize.

"Having trouble deciding again?" he asked, and his heart pounded a beat quicker when the familiarity bloomed in her eyes.
