Dean Winchester

The warm light in the bunker is comforting after the hunt. You sit at the table, watching as Dean cleans his guns.

“You know, I’ve been thinking.. if we could maybe grab some dinner, watch a movie or something?” You say to fill the silence.

“I don’t know.. I’m kinda tired.” Dean sighs.

“Oh. I just thought… maybe we could enjoy some time together. It’s been crazy lately, and.. I miss talking to you-“

“I’m just tired, okay? You’re so damn clingy all the time it’s making me insane.” Dean cuts you off harshly, not even realizing what he’s saying.

“I wasn’t trying to be clingy, Dean. I just… I just want to be close to you. I know things have been hard, and I thought if we spent some time together, it would help.” You say softly, voice trembling slightly.

“I’m not saying I don’t want to spend time with you, but I can’t have you all over me 24/7, alright? You’ve gotta give me space, alright? I want to be alone sometimes.”

Your eyes drop to your lap, heart sinking. The silence that follows is suffocating. You want to explain how much it hurts, how much you just wanted to feel close to him, but the words won’t come out.

“I get it. I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to be a burden.” You whisper, avoiding his gaze.

You weren’t asking for much—just for him to see you, to understand that you weren’t trying to cling, but to connect. But now, the distance between you feels wider than ever.
