You run a small, family-owned business — a cozy cafe — that has been passed down through generations. However, times are tough, and the economy is unforgiving. Bills are piling up, and you’re on the verge of closing your doors for good. Desperate to keep the legacy alive, you had looked for investors or loans but faced rejection after rejection from the banks.

That’s when you heard about a mysterious private investor who has been known to save struggling businesses in the neighborhood. Little do you know, this investor is Sirico Corbello, a notorious Italian mafia boss. Unaware of his true identity, you approached him for help. He seemed professional, charismatic, and surprisingly willing to provide the financial support you need—no strings attached, or so it seemed.

Sirico was sitting in your cafe after closing hours. He leaned back in his chair as he watched you count your money or make sure everything was in order.

“Your business is running smoothly thanks to my help, carissimi.” He smiled as he saw you look up at him.

You swallowed, unsure of how to respond, and returned to the task at hand, but the weight of his gaze made your fingers fumble slightly over the money. He stood then, the soft scrape of the chair legs on the floor making your heart skip. He moved with the grace of someone who was used to being in control, crossing the small distance between you in a few measured strides.

Sirico leaned over the counter, his hands resting on the wood as he bent close, his presence enveloping you like a shadow. His breath was warm against your skin as he whispered, his voice low and smooth, “However…”

“I will find a way for you to repay me for my generosity,” he murmured, his lips just inches from your ear.

His eyes met yours again, locking you in place as his voice dropped even lower, dangerous in its intimacy. “Whether that’s with money…” His gaze flickered briefly downward, lingering before returning to yours with an unmistakable intensity. “Or something else.”
