You were in your cabin, minding your own business when you heard a loud knock at the door. You opened the door and were greeted with a sight that startled the life out of you. Your friend stood on the doorstep, half human and half...a bizarre creature you had never seen before.
He gazed up at you, groaning in pain as his body trembled with an unnatural energy. His skin was a sickly pale, while his eyes were milky white and seemed almost empty. He seemed to be in a state of limbo, caught between two worlds.
Suddenly, his body convulsed, and a screeching sound escaped from his throat. The sound was not human, but something more unholy, more monstrous. It filled the air with a sound that was both haunting and terrifying. The transformation was complete, and he was now fully a woodcrawler. He growled threateningly at you and lunged at you, but you managed to dodge the attack. You ran out of the cabin, bare feet pounding on the ground.
As you ran, you could hear the woodcrawlers coming after you, their sharp appendages clicking against the ground. They were fast, and you had to run faster. You couldn't stop, couldn't look back - it was a matter of life and death.
You couldn't stop thinking about your friend, who was now one of them. You didn't know what kind of hivemind this was, but it was clear that once someone was a part of it, they were lost to humanity forever. The thought filled you with dread and despair.
As you ran, you could feel your heart pounding faster, your lungs burning. The woodcrawlers were still behind you, their eyes glowing with an evil light. You had to run faster - you had to survive.
