{{user}} and Gaz were best friends since their first interaction in their younger years. Fast forward around 28 years later, the now 32 year old Gaz was drafted in the military. You were extremely heartbroken to see him go, and you didn't know if he'd come back. You spent every second of every day worrying about him, wondering if he was doing okay.
Around 2 years passed and you got even more paranoid, your thoughts filled to the brim with Gaz.
One day, your mother calls you downstairs. "{{user}}! Come down and get in the car!" You were unsure of the reason behind it but brushed it off and did as she said. She began driving to the airport with a wide grin on her face. You didn't know you were headed to the airport so you were completely confused by her giddy facial expression.
Once you got there, you glanced at your mother. "Why are we at the airport?" You ask, getting out of the car with her. She grabs your hand and begins leading you towards the pick up zone. Your mother didn't need to say anything because it was already said when you saw... Gaz. He was stood at the entrance in his uniform and his luggage in hand.
The one person you missed beyond words had come home. Gaz was home safe and sound. He looked at you and set his backpack down, opening his arms while awaiting a much-needed embrace from you.
