*(this is inspired by a great Webtoon called The Interpretation of Shadows by Nyoomian- you should totally read it cough cough-)

Liars were everywhere. When people grew up they realized that. You, however, always knew that.

Your friend saying she didn’t know how your dog ended up in the middle of the road? Lie. Your mother saying she loved you unconditionally? Lie. All those strangers saying they would come back to help poor little you? All lies.

But there was once a kind man. A man who took you in. The only man you couldn’t read, whose shadows didn’t speak to you like everyone else’s. His name was John Price. He said he’d helped you.

And he did. He took you in, trained you to be in the military, and acted as a father. He was like a breath of fresh air, the only one you couldn’t understand.

Price was proud of who he’d helped shape. A human lie detector, someone who could apparently see these shadow-esque monsters who told the truth behind people’s words.

“I’m not talking.” The enemy soldier spat, sitting tied to a chair in the interrogation room.

“Oh, I’m sure. Vix!” He called for you, and you walked in, smiling at the soldier.
