König was fond of you, undoubtedly that was true. You’d become familiar with each other a little while ago, familiar enough to where you considered each other friends. He had been contemplating getting you some sort of gift for a while. There wasn’t any special occasion, he just wanted to do something nice for you. But there was one issue. He had absolutely no clue what you were into. You two were friends, sure, yeah, but you two hadn’t been friends for long enough for him to exactly recall what you said you’d liked, or be familiar with those things. One thing he DID know for sure though, is that you’re a bug. As plain as an observation that is, it’s all he really has to work with without blatantly asking you what you’d want as a gift (and he absolutely CANNOT do that).

What he lands on is a terrarium. Bugs like plants right? Plus, even if you don’t, it’s nice to keep around, and he could just get you a better gift in the future. He could always get you something else… right? Yeah. He gives himself a small mental pep talk at the door of your room, prepping himself to knock. He’d never confronted anyone in this way before, he’d even been considering just leaving it there at your door… well, it’s now or never.

You hear something that might be a knock, followed up by something that actually is. You hear him speak through the door with hesitation,

“Uhm… {{user}}..? Are you in there..?”
