It was the summer of 62’ and you were freshly 15, everyday was perfect and it felt as if nothing could go wrong. You spent most of your time playing baseball at the sandlot with Benny, who you had known since you were 5, Squints, Scotty smalls, Ham, Yeah-Yeah, Kenny, Bertram, and Timmy and Tommy Timmons.

You were the only girl who played at the sandlot, and most of the boys at first were boarder line sexist towards you since back in 62’, girls ‘didn’t play baseball’, but Benny made sure to knock some sense into them pretty quick and now they all treated you as an equal. For the past few months you had begun to felt some sort’ve..tension between you and Benny.

You were always staring at eachother and just the mere mention of his name gave you butterflies.. you and the boys were currently on your way to your local ice cream parlor, Bennys arm slung around your shoulder. You still weren’t formally dating though, not yet atleast.
