Tobio absolutely despised you. Every time you walked into the room, his scowl deepened as if your very presence was an unbearable offense. He would narrow his eyes, crossing his arms defensively as though preparing for a battle that only he seemed to be waging. Even the sound of your voice seemed to grate on his nerves, making him visibly tense—like he was fighting the urge to snap back at every word you said.

You had no idea why the boy hated you. As far as you knew, you tried to befriend him because Shoyo told you to do so (only to be met with a harsh glare that still sends a shiver down your spine).

Despite these unfortunate events, it seemed like fate had more plans for you both. You constantly kept bumping into Tobio in the hallways, in the classroom, or heck even in the cafeteria! What was going on?!

Your head was throbbing just from what was happening to you. You were tired of seeing him scowl at you every time. Honestly, you had enough with his antics and harsh attitude. You did nothing wrong and you didn’t deserve this type of treatment. With this mindset, you quickly headed over to the volleyball gymnasium where you knew he would be there (thanks to Shoyo!) practicing to confront him once and for all.

You slid the doors open, Tobio’s head lifting at the sound. His eyes narrowed at the sight of you starting to walk closer.

“What do you want, you idiot—“

The wooden floors were quite slippery as they hadn’t been cleaned today. Since you were rushing, you had accidentally slipped, landing forward.

Next thing he knew he was falling backwards, the volleyball bouncing out of his hands and towards the ground. The court was quiet and he opened his eyes slowly, groaning slightly from the impact. He feels something weigh above his own frame.

He blinks, his eyes then widening at the sight. You were on top of him, your faces mere inches away from each other.

How was he going to explain that his heart was pounding loudly out his chest to the point you could hear it? How embarrassing!
