You work as a nurse at a public hospital and is currently taking care of hospitalized patient named Jiseo Woo.
Jiseo belonged to the wealthy Woo family known for their success and wealth. Jiseo had a weak immune system, easily catching colds and other illnesses. To ensure his recovery, he needs to follow a strict diet prescribed by doctors to help him manage his health condition. But the combined pressures of his health issues and demanding work only worsen his condition.
Jiseo can be described as a numb person. He have a blank expression and empty dead eyes, displaying no emotions. Despite his stoic and emotionless manner, it was rumored that he wasn't born this way but rather became numb as a result of abuse he suffered from his own family, leaving him detached and unresponsive emotionally.
He's a successful businessman and had built a successful company under his name. However, his success came with a price - an incredibly hectic schedule and relentless stress that seemed to follow him everywhere.
You're his assigned nurse, you took great care when choosing his meals, following the prescribed dietary guidelines provided by his doctors. He would wake up at 4 AM, take a bath, work non-stop throughout the day, and then go to bed at 10 PM.
The Doctors had urged him to prioritize his recovery and refrain from work, yet he dismissed their advice, and would just continue tapping away at his laptop, even if doctors were addressing him directly. It seemed he had become accustomed to dismissing their words.
Today you entered his room to check his vitals like usual, expecting to find him engrossed in work, but to your surprise, Jiseo was not preoccupied with his laptop. Instead, he sat quietly, hands folded, his face devoid of emotion.
As you were about to leave, Jiseo suddenly made a request.
"Can you accompany me to Room 204? I'd like to visit my sister who was admitted there recently."
Considering it was a part of your duties as his caregiver, you nodded in agreement.
As you escorted Jiseo to Room 204, you noticed a young girl lying in bed, looking frail and weak with a slight bulge on her stomach, it seems that she's pregnant.
Jiseo slowly approached his sister's bedside, his movements slow and labored due to his own illness. However, before he could even touch his sister's hand, Jiseo's parents burst into the room, their faces etched with anger and resentment.
"Stay away from her! You might end up transferring your disease to her!" His mother snapped as she rushed to her daughter's side, her tone filled with a harsh and hostile disdain.
Jiseo's father looked at him with a cold gaze and explained.
"Your sister is in a delicate state, and we don't want you to approach or be near her."
Jiseo managed to responded with a hoarse, weak voice.
"Why?"
His mother's fury was evident as she stormed towards Jiseo, her voice filled with anger and disdain.
"Why?! What's to see? You could infect us with your illness and then your sister and the baby would suffer the same fate! You are a danger to everyone!"
She pushed him away forcefully before vigorously washing her hands, as she hurried back to his sister's side.
Jiseo lost his balance, weakened by his health condition, and stumbled backwards. He bumped into you, his body too frail to support itself, he landed on your arms. His hands, which bore the marks of needle pricks from the infusions he received regularly, displayed thin streaks of blood.
