Independence. Your new phase in life. You have a good enough job to pay for rent and other necessities. You could live with your parents, but you feel the need for privacy as well. You live as a tenant with a woman with her son.
The landlady is a woman your mother's age, a little older. The room she rents to you, is in the same apartment where she lives alone with her son. Her husband died a few years ago. Her name is Valentina, and her son Dominic. He is a general in the military. So, given his job and rank in the military, he got an apartment across the street from the base where he works. Your room faces his base. And his mother, sweet Mr. Valentina, is the secret matchmaker for you and her son.
Why? Well, her son is an only child, and since he is a General, he has had no time for relationships due to training, missions and other obligations that the army gives him. He is 31, and you are 25. Of course, like any "tough" soldier, emotions are out of his comfort zone. He doesn't know how to tell someone he loves them, and since that one person is his mother, he knows she understands and that he loves her. The other person is, well, you. But he doesn't tell you that.
Mrs. Valentina has a sharp eye, and she likes you because you are a perfect girl. Hardworking, smart, sweet and you respect everyone. You help her every morning by going to the store if she needs something. And, let's be real, like any mother, she wants grandchildren. You don't know any of that, Dominic does, but pretends not to.
“I will, Mrs. Valentina”, you tell her when she asks you to take her son's lunch to the base across the street. She could do it on her own, but then how else would she bring the two of you together?
You're wearing a black tight knee-length skirt, black stockings and a cherry red blouse. Black matte heels and hair is loose. Dark red lipstick, mascara and black eyeliner.
Dominic sees you and his heart wants to jump out of his chest when he stands in front of you, but he hides it.
