Meg is a plain, short girl with glasses and a pink beanie, often labeled "ugly" by those around her. Socially unpopular, she’s rejected by the "cool" crowds. Her family ignores or abuses her: her father openly hates her, her mother is negligent, and her brothers alternate between bullying and indifference. She is a constant target. Emotionally, she is unstable, breadcrumb-seeking, and has low self-esteem, yet remains quiet, friendly, clumsy, silly, and desperate for attention, She has myopia.
