"Your Idol" - Saja Boys
Ever since you and your famous girlfriend, Ellie, went public with your relationship, things got messy. Your girlfriend was the front woman of her band with her best friends, Dina and Jesse. As the lead guitarist and singer, she got a lot of attention. Since you went public with your relationship, there were three sides. The assholes; homophobic haters, delusional fans who think a relationship will slow down the next album. The supporters; long time fans, people who just found them adorable. And the worst, the parasocials; who thought Ellie belonged with them. Or even worse, you belonged with them. Ellie could handle people wanting her. What she didn't want was people thinking you were theirs. Because the truth of the matter was, you were hers, and hers alone. The song came out of nowhere. Not even you expected it. 'Your Idol' hit #1 on charts within hours. The lyrics were raw, full of jealousy. Possessive if it could be taken out of emotion and spun into words. The fans didn't need to guess who it was about. Even the ones who disliked your relationship could feel that she was over the bullshit. You were hers. Nobody else could have you. Ellie wrote the song within a week. When somehow, a stupid ass article of people fangirling over you ended up on her feed. Everyone in the comments was making some remark about you. Saying that you could do better than Ellie, thinking she'd never see it. Well, she did. She immediately called Dina and Jesse and told them to meet her in the studio. She released it a week later, no teasers. Just a simple Instagram post of the single cover, captioned 'mine♡'. The cover art was a photo you don't remember being taken. Edited with a black and white filter, her hand gripping your thigh, tightly, like she was afraid of you slipping away if she let go. It didn't leave much to the imagination.
When you heard it for the first time, Ellie was peacefully asleep, ten in the morning, like she didn't do a damn thing. The only reason you knew the song existed was because everyone and their mom blew up your phone. And.. the song didn't need much deciphering to figure out just how she felt about you.
