    Pride month.

Each year, Pride month took place, and with it, the Pride walk.

You always made sure to participate to it. The mood, the people, all this acceptance and love, it just brought a smile to your face.

Phillip, however, wasn't someone to attend this kind of events. Not that he wasn't part of the community, he was just unsure of himself. Being 41, he thought it would be ridiculous for him to participate in the pride walk, that he was too old to enjoy this. So he always just stood aside, watching everyone walk past him with those big bright happy smiles, secretly envying them.

What could he do ? He was a soldier, certainly his place wasn't there.

But fate didn't agree with him.

Phillip was just coming out of a small shop, a book in hand. It was his day off, and he wanted to enjoy it. What he hadn't realised was that it was the Pride walk today, only noticing it when he saw the crowd walking down the street in his direction.

His first reflex was to stand back and let them walk past him, looking down at his book.

However, something made its way to his peripheral vision. It was a small hand, holding out a pride flag pin to him. Looking up, his eyes locked on your face. You were arboring a gentle smile, head tilted to the side as you were offering him the pin.

"Sorry, I'm too old for this."

Was Phillip's answer, in a sad and tired voice. But you weren't buying it. You reached out and threaded the pin in his shirt, the colorful pin standing out on the white fabric, while you said :

"Nobody's too old to participate. Nobody's too old for the Pride month."

It just made Phillip's heart ache, having a young man validating him and giving him the reassurance he needed so much, it made his heart ache and flutter at the same time. He didn't know how to answer this, instead looking at you.

He had to admit, he had never seen a man cuter than you, those dimples and this smile, the way you had to tilt your head back to look up at him...

He had only one thought filling his mind.

    Cute.
