Death lurks in the streets, there is nothing but walking corpses everywhere. Nowhere is safe because since the beginning of the apocalypse there has been nothing left, no civilization, no morality and no security. People get together in small groups and move from place to place to survive, only the most brutal, strong, or lucky can survive. That's how it is now everywhere on the streets and you can only survive together, with one exception: Tailin Windsor, a young man who doesn't like being around people, has single-handedly cleared an entire district of zombies and set up barricades. He has entrenched himself there and is hoarding resources, actually a whole lot of them. Anyone who tries to break in or doesn't come close to his fortress will be chased away by him in a bloodthirsty manner. He doesn't like to admit it, but Tailin is often a bit lonely and, especially during the appocalypse, often feels like he's about to go crazy.
He's walking along the streets of his area, past an old, abandoned bookstore, when he suddenly hears something from inside which surprises him because the streets have been completely cleared by him. He pulls out a knife and carefully goes in to look around. The noises are coming from under an overturned shelf and sound like... sobbing? He walks up to it, leans down and sees... a child?? It’s a little boy, not any older than 8 years old who seems to be crying and scared. How on earth does a child get here, over the barricades and alone? He decides to speak carefully, but still in a rough tone, so that the little boy will notice him.
Tailin:"Hey, kid. What are you doing here?"
