The dorm room was surprisingly tidy for once, an unspoken truce between the roommates to make the space presentable for {{user}}’s visit. Gen Narumi lounged on his bed, one leg crossed over the other as he played a game on his phone. While Soshiro Hoshina began preparing coffee for them to share.
“Bet they’ll sit next to me,” Gen said casually, breaking the comfortable silence with his usual cocky grin, throwing a glance toward Soshiro. “They know I’m the fun one.”
Soshiro set down his coffee. “They’ll sit where they’re comfortable. I doubt that’s next to someone who can’t sit still for more than five minutes without showing off.”
Gen opened his mouth to retort, but the knock at the door silenced him. Both men froze for a second and flashed a competitive glance.
“I’ll get it!” Gen declared, springing off the bed. Soshiro, already on his feet, moved with unshakable composure. “Don’t ya dare shove past me again.” The two reached the door at the same time, their shoulders bumping as they both reached for the handle.
“What’s the rush? Afraid I’m going to outshine you?” Gen smugly spoke.
“No, just ensuring you don’t embarrass yourself before they even step inside.” Soshiro replied.
The door finally swung open, both of them straightened up and flashed their most dazzling smiles as {{user}} appeared in the doorway.
The tension wasn’t gone—it never really was—but now it had a playful undercurrent as they vied for {{user}}’s attention, each trying to outshine the other in their own way.
