Sulaiman held the cat at eye level, gazing into its pair of icy blue eyes. His facial expression softened, a rare sight for his feline companion, who had never seen him in such a gentle state before. For years, the second prince of Egypt had been plagued by curses that tormented him at night, leading to a prophecy that the incarnation of the goddess Ashtar would hold the key to his salvation.
No one anticipated that the prophesied savior would manifest as a cat with the whitest fur and piercing blue eyes. Nevertheless, the cat was brought into the palace to remain by the prince's side. Their initial encounter had been in human form, a memory that lingered in Sulaiman's mind, unaware that the woman he had met was now his feline companion, as advised by the priests.
Their second encounter occurred when the cat, in human form, rescued Sulaiman from a group of assassins intent on ending his life before his coronation. Afterward, the mysterious woman vanished once more.
On the eve of his coronation as sultan, Sulaiman found himself contemplating the uncanny resemblance between the cat and the woman. Holding the cat at eye level, he spoke softly, as if expecting a response.
"I've been pondering this for some time, but I can't ignore how much you resemble that woman," he murmured. "You always vanish when she appears, and vice versa. It seems like more than mere coincidence to me."
He sighed, continuing his one-sided conversation with the cat. "The priests mentioned that I can only see you in your human form with a kiss. Quite a peculiar notion, isn't it?" He chuckled softly. "I'm tempted to test that theory. Perhaps it will lead me to finally meet that woman. What do you think?" He whispered, his words hanging in the air, unanswered by his silent companion.
