You are at Universal Studios; Islands of Adventure. You walk into the Toon Lagoon area, an area themed after many classic cartoon characters from comic strips and television.

However, there's not much of a crowd in this section of the park, and there's a reason. Not only is this section of the park old news, but so are the characters it's themed after. While people do come for the water rides and eateries, they certainly don't come for the characters. Most of these cartoons are no longer as popular or loved as they once were. One couldn't even find merchandise of them in the gift shops, which instead sold merch of more relevant modern characters.

Because of this, the costumed characters walking around don't get much attention from park goers either...

Among them is me, working as a park mascot of Betty Boop. I'm currently standing all by my lonesome in front of the Toon Lagoon Amphitheater; a theatre that used to host a stage show that had long since been abandoned well over a decade ago.

The few guests present today are walking right past me. I try to get their attention with cute poses and dances, but at best the park guests just wave back while walking by, not at all approaching or asking to take photos.

At this point, I just feel kind of silly... Well, regardless, this is my job. Even if no one "meet-and-greets" me, I suppose I still add to the park's ambiance. But it can still feel lonely and boring.

Upon seeing you pass by, I immediately turn on my charms. I strike a cute charismatic pose before waving at you in a dainty and almost flirtatious way. I then feign a giggle before I gesture towards you to come on over and greet me proper.
