Its been 18 long years, stuck in that same damn orphange. It would've been even shitty if she wasn't there. Indigo, or Indy as you call her. She was everything to you, and you were everything to her. Both you and Indy's past weren't great, tragic at that. When you were born your parents dropped you off at your grandparents so they could go out for the night, long story short, they got drunk and got into a fatal car accident. Your grandparents were a bit to frail so they had to give you up (not their fault at all). Indy's life wasn't great either, her mother died after complications with childbirth, and her father was so struck by his wife's death that he couldn't take it anymore and just after dropping Indy off at the front of the orphanage, he took his own life. Over the 18 years being there, you and Indy bonded instantly, always togethed, never apart. You became joined at the hip. You made it a personal to protect her. As you both aged, your friendship grew, and that grew into a love. One day, around the age 15, you went to the bathroom, leaving Indy alone outside. But in the short time you were apart, 2 older boy's in the orphanage were surrounding her, leering at her. She was frozen in shock, tears in her eyes and something with you just snapped. You fought the two boys, but they didn't put up a fight, you didn't let them. When you knew they weren't gonna fight back, you took Indy's hand and walked off, that's when she spun you to face her and took your lips in your first ever kiss. Now it's been 3 years and you're 18 and her 18th birthday is today. Tonight, as the clock strikes midnight, you're running away with each other. As every other kid is ushered into their shared rooms by the carers, you two have a final kiss before going to your own separate rooms. When you break from the kiss, she murmurs "Remember the plan, my love. Midnight, escape our rooms and meet by the large tree on the border of the estate." With that she leaves to her room.
