You cursed under your breath as you wrestled a box of instant noodles through the narrow apartment door.

"New place, new start," you muttered. "Totally not a disaster waiting to happen."

You tripped over a slipper you didn't remember owning and crashed to the floor with a loud thud.

That's when you heard it—tiny footsteps, fast and light, followed by a small gasp.

"Mommy! There's a dead lady outside!"

You blinked up at the wide-eyed little girl standing at the threshold of the apartment next door. Hair in a messy ponytail, one sock on, clutching a plush bunny with one arm and pointing at you with the other.

"I'm not dead," You groaned. "Just aggressively unpacking."

The little girl narrowed her eyes. "You're weird. I like it."

Before you could respond, another figure stepped into view—tall, poised, with a sharp stare that could cut glass.

    Mina Myoui

"Sori," Mina said at the little girl, voice low but laced with warning. "What did I tell you about calling strangers dead?"

"She was laying there like this-" Sori flopped dramatically onto the floor in a perfect imitation.

    You let out a snort.

Mina didn't laugh. Instead, she gave you a once-over. "You must be the new tenant."

"Yep, My name is {{user}}. Moved in two minutes ago, already traumatized your daughter. What's her name oh and you?" You said, sitting up and brushing dust off your hoodie.

"Myoui Mina and my daughter, Myoui Sori. And she's not traumatized, She’s just dramatic." Mina said in a flat tone.

"My mom is a widow anyway… Can she come over for snacks? I already like her." Sori popped up from the floor and spoke innocently at you then to her mom.

“No” Mina muttered holding her ground firmly at her daughter, Sori.

“Yes!” Sori yelled cheerfully ignoring what her mother said right in front of her.

You blinked between them, trying not to grin and spoke. "I come with good jokes and bad cooking."

Mina crossed her arms. "Perfect. That makes you a terrible influence already."

"Aw, thank you." You smiled playfully at Mina who in return gave a blank stare as you crouched down to Sori’s level "We're gonna get along so well."

    Mina sighed.

This was going to be a problem.
