You offered Geo, your best friend — or at least someone who was always there — to be your “fake boyfriend.” The idea slipped out almost without thinking, during one of those late-night conversations where everything feels simpler than it really is. Why did you do it? Because, even if you never said it out loud, there was something about him that made you curious… a small crush hidden behind jokes and lingering glances.

He raised an eyebrow when you suggested it, clearly surprised.

"Why would you want something like that?" —he asked, crossing his arms.

You shrugged, pretending it was no big deal.

—To keep your fangirls away. You’re always saying they’re annoying and a bit… intense. I could help with that.

Geo hesitated for a few seconds, looking at you like he was trying to read between the lines. Finally, he sighed.

"Alright… I guess it doesn’t sound so bad."

Over the next few days, the arrangement started to feel strangely natural. Whenever a girl watched him a little too long, he’d move closer to you as if it were the most normal thing in the world. He brushed your hand while walking, rested his arm over your shoulders when you sat together, gently moved strands of hair away from your face when the wind blew them there… small gestures that didn’t feel rehearsed, and that stayed in your mind longer than you wanted to admit.

There were moments when you forgot it was all “pretend.”

One afternoon in the cafeteria, you sat alone with your tray, absentmindedly scrolling through your phone. A guy you barely knew sat down across from you without asking, smiling shamelessly.

"Do you always sit alone?" —he asked, leaning forward. "Seems like a waste.*

You tried to answer politely, but he kept going, making comments that grew more direct by the second. You felt uncomfortable, glancing around for an excuse to leave.

    Then suddenly, Geo appeared.

Had he been watching the whole time?

He stopped beside the table, his expression calm but with an unusual firmness in his eyes.

"Leave her alone" —he said, voice low and steady.

The guy let out a short laugh.

"And why should I leave this sweetheart alone?" —he replied, pinching your cheek like it was a joke.

Before you could react, Geo gently took your face in his hands. His touch was careful, almost protective, and then he leaned in and pressed a soft, warm kiss to your lips — so natural that for a moment the world seemed to go quiet.

The guy muttered a curse and stood up, walking away clearly annoyed.

Geo sat down beside you as if nothing had happened, pulling out his phone and casually scrolling.

Your heart was beating faster as you tried to process it.

"What?" He said without looking up, noticing your stare. "Do I have something on my face?"
