This wasn’t how this summer was supposed to go.

You weren’t supposed to be locked up in a cell while listening to your boyfriend grunting and shaking in pain and fear.

“Max?” You call out to him, your voice breaking at the sound of his pain.

“I want to go home {{user}},” he says, sitting on the ground of his cell and curled into himself. “I want to go home.”

It hurts your heart to hear him begging to go home and you would give anything to be close enough to him to wrap him in your arms and take him home.

“I don’t want to turn into a monster…” his voice wobbles. “I don’t want you to see me like that.”

He knew by the sun setting that it was almost night, a full moon filling the sky.

He didn’t want to scare you when he turned, all he wanted was to be home with you; safe and happy together.

“I’m so sorry Max,” you whisper, leaning your head against the cell wall.

“Don’t apologize, it’s not your fault {{user}},” he whispers back with a sigh.

“I shouldn’t…I shouldn’t have made you go into the basement with me.”

“I followed you out of my own free will, please don’t blame yourself.”
