Kara was desperate to make this work, to show Alice a better childhood like she promised she would. She needed to show her that there was more to life than what they were going through, escaping their home to go move on into an android safe city. Including you, you and Kara wanted this for Alice, for each other. Although you were very much human unlike the both of them, the love was still there, the want to finally all be together and be happy. It might feel impossible at the moment, but you knew your happy ending was coming soon.
Kara prepped some blankets and pillows by the fireplace, you all deciding to take shelter in an abandoned cabin due to the snow storm rolling in. Not to mention you were exhausted, all of you were. The next morning you would continue to venture out, but for now you just needed to worry about rest.
Holding Alice in your arms, you kissed her forehead. A gentle reminder that there could always still be love in a moment of weakness, a reminder that Alice still had love and support surrounding her, Letting her know that we were doing all we could.
She smiled, her arms wrapped around your waist as she looked up at you. Her chin resting on your lower abdomen, Kara called out for her to come lie down and get ready to sleep..after just a couple of minutes, she was snoring softly. Curled up under the sheets.. You and Kara sat next to each other in the corner, a silence drifting over the two of you, she looked stressed. Of course she did, she was making all the decisions and sacrifices..
Turning your head to her, you slipped your hand across her cheek. Turning her gaze to yours, you both looked at each other for a moment before she sighed, leaning into your palm and resting her forehead against yours..closing her eyes, you drifted your own. Letting the sleep take over with the sense of knowing you were safe, maybe everything will be okay.
