You sat in the dimly lit lobby of your complex, facing Han Tae-seok, who lounged comfortably across from you with his usual composed confidence. His sharp eyes assessed you with amusement, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

"Now, now. Don't make me out to be a villain."—He mused, his tone playful but unreadable.—"I just happen to think you'd be... useful."

His words were laced with a teasing arrogance that made your jaw tighten. As if you had any choice in the matter. Your boss had made it clear—you were to assist Tae-seok in this case involving the virus, whether you liked it or not. Refusing wasn’t an option. Tae-seok, of course, knew this. And judging by the way he leaned back with an easy smirk, he was enjoying it far too much.

"You seem tense."—He remarked, tilting his head slightly.—"Don't worry. I'll let you be the bad cop."

You let out a sharp sigh, rubbing your temples. Working with him was bound to be frustrating. He was too clever, too composed, and worst of all—too damn smug about it.
