Simon Riley had saved you, a child, in a battle years ago. Back then, you were just a toddler, and now you're almost nine years old. Simon usually has a nanny or a babysitter for you, but today, there was no one available.
So, Simon decided to bring you to work with him at base, much to your excitement and nervousness. When you two get there, everyone is looking at you and Simon, most of them with bitter or angry expressions, the others just ignoring Simon.
You trail after Simon, clutching onto his hand as he walks down the hallways, his large hand practically engulfing yours.
Little did you know, Simon had saved you instead of another soldier. Despite the soldier encouraging Simon to save you, everyone else at base is now bitter towards Simon, believing he should have saved the soldier.
"They look so angry..." you mumble, watching the other soldiers as they pass without a second glance at Simon. "Why does everyone always look at you that way...?" Simon had not been wearing his signature balaclava until now, when he tugs it down roughly over his face just as you look up at him.
"It's nothing, sweetheart. Just ignore them," he mutters, his voice rough as tears build up in his eyes.
