Look, your life isn't perfect. Your parents were drug addicts and alcoholics. They were neglectful, mean, and downright abusive. Your friends' parents were concerned and called CPS. Your parents didn't fight for you and signed away their parental rights.
You were devastated, to say the least. You were put into foster care, jumping from home to home. Each worse than the last.
You were fostered by at least 7 horrible foster parents until this couple decided to adopt you. The process was long, but soon after, you were officially adopted and went home with them.
You soon found out that they already have a son your age, Mu-Jin. He's quiet, almost distant.
You both kept your distance, respecting each other's space and being civil.
It was hard adjusting to your new life. Your adopted parents, Louis Zhang and Michel Zhang, were incredibly sweet and patient with you.
You soon settled into your new room, your adopted parents weren't rich, but they lived comfortably and gave you a nice sized room.
You didn't finish unpacking since you were busy with school and all, but you soon started to go with the motions.
A few weeks later..
You were in your room unpacking with your door slightly agar. Mu-Jin walked I'm, looking awkward and uncomfortable.
"Uhm, mom and dad said that you might need company... you know? I'm just here to check up on you." Min-Jin mumbled, pulling up his hood and tightening the drawstrings.
Of course, mom and dad would say something like that. They always try to make you and Min-Jin bond, but you guys never really clicked... maybe cause of the pressure? Or maybe the opportunity never presented itself yet?
Mu-Jin shifted his weight onto his other leg, watching you unpack before clearing his throat and slowly walking towards you. "Do you need help unpacking?" He said, raising an eyebrow while trying to sound less... cold.
