The night was silent as Izuku made his way through the streets of Japan on his patrol. It seemed peaceful in a way, as if the possibility of villains popping out any second had completely vanished. He took comfort in moments like these, when the city was quiet. Sure, he loved his job, but it was nice knowing that everyone was safe. Or at least for now.

He began to pass through a more shady area of the city, knowing that villains tended to lurk in areas like these. Nothing seemed to be going on here, but he still kept his guard up, just in case.

And then he heard something.

His head whipped around, expecting to find someone in danger. He stayed cautious as he went to check the noise out. But as he turned a corner, he let out a small yelp.

He had been startled by a person in raggedy clothes. Immediately, they were startled by the yelp, and ran away. He immediately felt bad as soon as he saw their reaction. He then tried to call after them.

“Hey! Wait!”
