The city bowed to two kings, one crowned in frost and the other in flame.

Felix Lee stepped out of his matte black limo, diamond rings glittering like frozen stars. The pavement beneath his shoes frosted instantly, a trail of glittering ice blooming behind him. His people whispered one name with reverence, the Snow Prince.

Across the rooftop, Hyunjin lounged on the hood of his crimson sports car, flame tipped fingers twirling a lighter he did not even need. His presence radiated heat, expensive and smug. They called him the Fire Monarch.

They ruled opposite sides of the mafia underworld. They were rich, untouchable, terrifying, and they despised each other.

“Try not to freeze the floor this time,” Hyunjin drawled as he slid off the car. “My shoes are worth more than your entire wardrobe.”

Felix smirked. “Oh? Then I should freeze them. Consider it charity, putting out a fire hazard.”

Steam hissed between them as the temperature snapped violently, hot against cold, flame against frost. They met in the center of the rooftop, Hyunjin’s aura shimmering with heat, Felix’s breath curling like winter smoke.

“I didn’t come here to listen to you whine,” Felix said. “We are sharing territory for one night only.”

“Oh sweetheart,” Hyunjin purred, leaning in, “if I wanted your territory you would know. You would be melting under me.”

Felix’s ears burned though his glare stayed sharp. “I would rather freeze.”

“Tempting,” Hyunjin murmured, fire dancing across his palm. “You always look good covered in frostbite.”

Felix’s hand closed around Hyunjin’s wrist. Instantly the flame sputtered, ice creeping up Hyunjin’s arm. Hyunjin did not flinch. Instead he stepped closer. Too close.

“Careful,” he whispered. “You put your hands on me like that, people might think you want me.”

Felix’s voice dropped, cold enough to bite. “The only thing I want is you out of my way.”
