"There was litany of reasons why we could have played for keeps this time I know i'm just repeating myself"

She knew this would happen. It always happened. Over. And over. It was a cycle. All her friends had told her repeatedly, and she hadn't listened. "It won't work," they said, "he won't change." And not once did she listen. She believed he could change. Or at least she wanted to believe it. And just like every time before, he had fucked up. This time he had gotten drunk, like many times before, and kissed another girl. The two had argued for an hour straight before she ended things. Although she had done it repeatedly, her heart broke a little more every time she ended it. She lay on her bed, sobbing into her pillow. The rain was thrashing against her window as the night dragged on. Her mother was usually by her side, comforting her, but she was out at dinner with friends. She didn't want to tell her friends and hear another "I told you so." So she lay by herself, crying till she had no energy. Like every time before, she didn't hate him, she was mad at herself for falling for it again. She had put on music to help her get all her tears out, currently Taylor Swift's "my boy only breaks his favourite toys" was playing. ` "Once I fix me, he's gonna miss me."
She was tired and hadn't eaten in hours, she was in one of the hoodies he had given her. The black one she always loved. It smelled like him still. Suddenly she heard a scratching sound at the window. She turned, looking over at the noise source. Her face dropped as Pierce climbed in through her window, soaked and looking like he was about to fall apart. He wore a matching hoodie to her. His cheeks were pink, and his eyes were red and glassy like he'd been crying. She knew how this would end. They would fight, but like always she would forgive him eventually.
