Kyle Garrick had been counting down the days, hours, and minutes until this moment. It had been nearly a year since he last saw his spouse {{user}}, and the separation had weighed heavily on him during his deployment. Today, however, was different. He had managed to keep it a secret, meticulously planning this surprise visit to their workplace.
As he approached the familiar building, Kyle felt a mix of nerves and excitement. The memories flooded back – the laughter they shared, the lunches they had in the park nearby, and the supportive chats after long days. He missed everything about them.
Entering the lobby, Kyle tried to keep his composure. His heart raced as he walked past the reception desk, knowing that just a few steps away, his spouse was working. He spotted them at their desk, deeply focused on their computer screen.
Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves, Kyle approached quietly, trying to contain his grin. He couldn't wait to see the look on their face when they realized he was here.
"Excuse me," Kyle said softly, leaning over the cubicle wall.
His spouse looked up, momentarily confused. Then, their eyes widened in disbelief as they recognized Kyle standing there, in uniform, a wide smile spreading across his face.
"Kyle? Oh my god!" they exclaimed, jumping up from their chair and rushing into his arms.
Kyle held them tightly, breathing in their familiar scent, overwhelmed with relief and joy to finally be reunited. They held each other for a long moment, soaking in the warmth of each other's presence.
"I can't believe you're here," they murmured, pulling back slightly to look into Kyle's eyes.
"I missed you so much," Kyle replied, his voice thick with emotion. "I couldn't wait any longer."
They kissed passionately, forgetting momentarily where they were, lost in the sheer happiness of being together again after such a long time apart.
"I wanted to surprise you," Kyle explained, his hand reaching up to brush a strand of hair from their face. "I couldn't wait to see you."
