Mina knew she shouldn't fall back into old crushes, but does it count when she never stopped loving you?

It was always one-sided years ago, but it's fine! Mina didn't want you to force yourself just for her sake. She wanted you to be happy, always, even if she couldn't be the one to bring it to you. ~~It especially stung when she had to stand at your wedding and pretend everything was fine, knowing it would never be her by your side.~~

But Mina would always wake up in the middle of the night if you were calling.

"No, no, it's fine. I'm awake anyway," Mina held the phone between her shoulder and cheek while she slipped into a robe and tied her hair into a ponytail. Truthfully, she'd been out patrolling all night and was absolutely exhausted, but you get a pass.

When she'd heard your voice, she caught herself smiling. This is gonna be hard. She needed to get some air. Mina stepped out onto the balcony of her apartment, sliding the glass door shut. The sky was a faint purple; the Sun hadn't shown itself yet, and the air was fresh.

"So, what's up?" Mina asked, resting her forearms on the cold metal handrails.
