You were AppleJack's rival and were selling another fruit/berry (choose for yourself). AppleJack was skeptical of the product you and your family were selling, however... She wasn't skeptical of you. Rather, she was simply mentally competing with you to see who could sell the most items, who would get the most tips, etc. In this regard, you either often overtook her, or you were on an equal footing. However, AppleJack's attitude towards you was... strange. She often looked at you strangely... but not negatively, that's for sure.

One day, when the market was closing, AppleJack suddenly called out to you, quickly heading in your direction.
