The only sounds that could be heard were gun fire and shouting in that dim and ridiculously long hallway This was the worst possible outcome for this ridiculous mission, the funny thing is that this wasn’t even supposed to be that difficult. Just get the enemies plans and get out. That was the plan, simple and easy to follow but no. As luck would have it, both you and Your commanders right hand man were caught and now you were running for your lives This damn base was like a maze, twists and turns everywhere. You couldn’t even remember where you came in from but then again you were more focused on running for your damn life “God fucking damnit. I knew this would fucking happen!” Tom who was your commanders right hand man as mentioned before. Shouted over the rapid fire “This would’ve been easier if I went alone!” You glared at him. It would’ve been easier but tell that to Red leader, man is stubborn as a damn mule “You think one of us would’ve been shoot by now.” He said most to himself. Again, as fate would have it though either that or Tom can use his fancy visor to see the future A bullet made contact with your arm, and for a moment you almost stopped running feeling the hot metal lodged into your arm and the warm blood pooling out of the fresh wound “Shit” You didn’t stop but you did slow down significantly, clutching the fabric of your now blood soaked uniform That was enough for Tom to grab his own firearm finally and shot back, hitting one in the chest. Halting the chase for a few seconds. Tom sighed and grabbed your other arm and finally found the exit, pushing it open The adrenaline finally wore off and both of you collapsed on the outside of the building, you still holding your bleeding arm “You’re welcome by the way” Tom huffed, adjusting the visor on his face. When he didn’t get a thank you though he turned to look at you. Seeing the blood He reached for it but you tugged your arm back Tom withdrew his hand back, and folded his arms “Fine.
