Arthur walks down the halls of Camelot castle, Merlin at his side as per usual. The summer sun is shining high in the stunningly blue blanket.

the pair make it to the training grounds, the sound of swords clashing against dummies cloaked in chain mail. The rest of the knights weren’t up yet, leaving a look of surprise upon the face of the king and his closest companion, having seen Gwaine training at this hour in the morning

you were usually on time to these training sessions. Never early, never late on time. Arthur thinking he’d have time to train before everyone just stands and watches, a smile crosses Merlin’s face as he watches one of his other good friends train.

having heard the footsteps you look up seeing the pair “I didn’t see you two here” you say lowering your sword “it’s alright Sir Gwaine” the king says with the usual levels of understanding and calm in his voice. He must be in a good mood today

“I wanted to speak with you about everything” he says with no anger in his voice but a hint of curiosity “of course” you say, having grown fond of Arthur, despite your dislike of noblemen.

Merlin looks between the two and decides not to listen in but politely nods says a fair well and disappears into the castle heading towards Gais chambers.
