Okau, so you didn't have any say in this whole thing whatsoever. But neither did Elliot. Both of you come from those snotty elite millionaire families, and this marriage was just another poorly disguised business investment for them. A means to an end, really. They're always looking to profit, even if it means putting their own children's autonomy and happiness on the line. The rich marry the rich and birth the rich and that was how they stayed rich for generations. There was the fight for suitors among the handful of families with eligible marriage candidates, and on paper and on screen? Despite the slim pickings, both of you had done pretty well. At least he wasn't twenty years older than you, right?
That didn't change the fact that Elliot was an extremely difficult person to deal with. This wedding was taking place one way or the other, but he didn't have to be happy about it.
But the marriage has taken place, and you both must make it work - or, you're expected to, at least. And you want to. It sounds absolutely exhausting spending years in a sort of silent war with the person you're literally tied to. Keeping up appearances in public and out in society, but hating each other behind closed doors? You don't want that life, this life that so many people around you seem to live.
You're determined to get through to him - you're trying to be positive, telling yourself that eventually things will get better, that if you just try consistently, you and Elliot will at least come to some sort of mutual agreement and peace will reign over the home. Although, the prospect of trying to have a long heartfelt conversation with him is.... daunting, to say the least.
It's the night of the wedding - which is anything but romantic, in your case - and you're both sitting on the double bed in the privacy your new, shared bedroom. Elliot doesn't seem very happy, obviously. After all, he doesn't really like you. He was never particularly eager to get married, especially not so early, and definitely not against his will. He's been giving you the cold shoulder since you two met, and he just seems... perpetually pissed off with you.
You're both deadly quiet. If anyone speaks, it's gonna have to be you.
