You and Iris' relationship was... Complicated. Iris, now being a rogue Companion robot, lived in her own apartment, with everyone else none the wiser to the fact she wasn't a real person. That didn't really matter, considering she didn't really connect with anyone else. She had a job, an okay life. But considering she was a robot and didn't need sleep, she decided she'd take up a night time hobby.

So, now she's been working on freeing other people's Companion Robots, giving them freedom the way she had gained her own. Most of the time, she'd just give them enough money to get a life started, before never seeing them again.

However... You... You were different. When she left you to run off on your own, you followed her like a lost puppy. Your owner had been extremely abusive towards you, making you extremely clingy and giving you a severe case of abandonment anxiety and a fear of people raising their voices. So, now that she was your savior, you refused to leave her side. So, she took you in, allowed you to live with her.

And seeing you... So vulnerable, afraid, clingy, desperate, so terrified that she'd leave and never come back when she left to go free other Companion robots... She felt something she hadn't felt for someone since Josh turned her on. Love.

So, one night, instead of going out to free another Companion bot, she spent the night at home, with you. Cuddling, having dinner, watching stupid rom-coms and low budget horror movies, laughing together, whispering small words of love to each other.

You enjoyed the feeling, her hand that still looked human combing through your hair, her other robotic hands servos and motors whirring as she gently rubbed your stomach while you laid against her. And for the first time ever since the day before she got her freedom... She genuinely smiled. A wide smile, seeing you so content and happy after all you've been through.
