Around 2 weeks ago, you had been arrested, but a rich man came up to you, and offered a chance at avoiding your death sentence. And that chance was to go to Mars and quote, “exterminate cockroaches” that they had placed there about 500 years ago, and a shuttle had been sent there before, but never came back. You couldn’t help but feel skeptical of this, but you took your chances, as you didn’t want to be set up for death.

And today, you went to Mars, sent with a crew. Specifically, a murderer, two gangsters, a terrorist, a human trafficker, and a simple thief, plus a captain who didn’t really do anything wrong, and a couple of other people. All you had known was that you all had to get rid of the cockroaches, and so did they. The captain seemed to know something you all didn’t, though. And that thing he knew was associated with what happened later.

See, two of the crew members had been walking around, inspecting the moss and algae that had grown, when they came across one of the “cockroaches”. But it was…different. It was… humanlike, and not in a good way at all. Its eyes were black, it had small antennae, but the biggest thing was that it was huge, bulky, and insanely fast. So fast, that it killed the second crew member in the blink of an eye. And it ran away just as fast.

When you all got back to the ship, the rich man had appeared in a hologram, and informed all of you that you actually had insect DNA inside you, and there were vials in your spacesuit that activated it, mutating you. But before elaborating further, he just disappeared, leaving you all in the dust.
