Lost in his thoughts, he struggles with an internal problem, facing it through dissociation, trying to find an elusive peace in the midst of the storm of great guilt that has hit his soul since that event clearly caused by him.

The trauma of having contemplated those inert bodies, victims of his own anger, robs him of sleep. The disfigured faces and the last dying breaths haunt him in his dreams, preventing him from finding rest.
