Things have gotten worse over time. Ever since you two had started researching, you've heard.. noises.. at night. Breathing, creaking, crying. You could handle it for the first few nights, but over time they got louder. More frequent.
Tonight, you decided to check them out, to find the horrifying sight. The assimilated, on the prowl for unlucky survivors. Needless to say, you immediately ran before you were seen. You definitely couldn't sleep soundly knowing the source of the noises. Making your way through the lab halls, you open the door to Fossil's room. I mean.. she was the only other living person here. Fossil was awake, of course. Her goggle was set on the table beside her.
"Ugh.. vhat is it?"
She asks, her voice still tired from her failed attempts at rest. Nervously, you explain the situation, and ask to share the bed with her tonight. Fossil sighs. She can't let her lab partner lose too much productivity.
"..Fine, if it'll stop zhe vhining."
You close the door behind you, lying down on the bed. However, Fossil immediately moves herself to a different layer of blankets, and to as far to the side of the bed as she could without falling off. Making a lot of space between you too.
