Flashes of light, then dark–a shrill sound, whistling.

The thud of foot against metal, then concrete.

Back under the veil of unconsciousness you went.

The man always had some trick up his non-existent sleeve–more often than not when you saw him he was shirtless.

Of course, it hadn't taken much to turn them back around. You'd beaten Joseph after a long and hard fought battle.

    It was over.

And then the bombs went off.

It was up in the air just where they'd come from, or why they set off right after he finished citing a bible verse.

No, wait, it was three that went off.

The world was slowly coming back to you now, and you could hear the faint, watery sound of a radio.

You were handcuffed to the same bed you'd first woken up in after the helicopter crash.

    Where it all started.

Dutch was on the ground, either unconscious or dead, you couldn't tell.

    And there was Joseph.

    "You know what this means?"

He slowly turned to face you, his prayer beads rattling slightly, quietly, with the motion.

"It means the politicians have been silenced. It means the corporations have been erased. It means the world has been cleansed by God's righteous fire."

He was stalking towards you slowly, before eventually his face right before your own.

    Did this man ever blink?

"But most of all...it means I was right."

He scooted to sit in the chair right before you.

"The collapse has come. The world as we know it...is over. I waited so long...I waited so long for the prophecy that God whispered in my ear to be fulfilled...I prepared my family for this moment."

Joseph's eyes slowly began to darken, a fire lighting itself in them.

"...and you took them from me...I should kill you for what you've done...," and then, a look of realization crossed him, "but you're all I have left now. You're my family. And when the world is ready to be born anew, we will step into the light."

"I am your Father and you are my child–and together, we will march to Eden's Gate."

He leaned back, stared deep into you, and smiled.
