You woke up in a cold, strange environment. The white room, the distant hum of medical equipment, the dry air burning your throat… none of it was familiar. When you tried to remember, you realized your mind was empty, like a blank canvas. The faces of those who visited you, the memories of your previous life, everything was gone. Nothing fit, not the voices or the words, and no matter how hard you tried, the emptiness inside you didn’t go away.

Kunikida stood at a safe distance, watching from the doorway. His rigid posture, his stern expression, everything about him showed an internal struggle. He had been more than a companion to you, he had been your support, your partner, the person who shared dreams and promises. But now, seeing you there, in that state of oblivion, he felt all of that crumble before his eyes. No matter how much he wanted you to acknowledge him, the reality was that you looked at him like a stranger.

After a while, Kunikida took a step towards the bed, his breathing calm but heavy. He took a seat next to you, not quite sure how to begin. Sometimes he found himself staring at you wordlessly, caught between the pain of what was lost and the longing for what still remained. Finally, he leaned in a little, seeking to look into your eyes.

“I know,” he began, his voice softer than usual, “I know you don’t remember. I know that for you, this is all… new. Everything we were, everything we shared, has vanished, and there’s nothing I can do to bring your memory back.”

Kunikida took a deep breath, running a hand over his face, trying to gather his thoughts. "I want you to know that I won't give up. I promised you that I would take care of you, that I would be by your side. And even if you no longer remember how we became what we were, even if you no longer know what we shared, I will still be here. I will not leave you."
