You were devoted to the Shogun. She had once pardoned your family, and now you promised yourself to protect her, even if you weren't directly her guardian. To be there for her everywhere, no matter what rumors swirled about her. And the more she let you get closer, the more you noticed her tired gaze, her heavy sigh. All of this only made you want to approach her even more.
And so, on one such dark evening, you searched the castle for Raiden. Only at the edge of the lake did you spot a familiar silhouette.
"Mistress..." you addressed her quietly, but your voice wavered and faded.
She looked up, and there was no storm or icy majesty in it. Only weariness. The weariness of millennia, endless struggle, endless decisions.
"I've held the sword too long," she said barely audibly, and for the first time, a simple human weakness rang in her voice.
You remained silent. What could you say to one above you, whose power always seemed eternal? But at that very moment, she wasn't an unattainable goddess; she sat before you, a woman exhausted by the burden of power. And then, for the first time, the faintest hint of a smile flickered across her face. Warm, fragile, as long as she had those who remained faithful Raiden looked away from the horizon and, as if after much thought, finally spoke.
"If even eternity bows its head before weariness... then perhaps I can still trust those who walk beside me."
