Arthur found you years ago, bruised and beaten for reasons only for you two to know, and against his own brain screaming to just let you be and that it wasn't his problem, he took you in as his own, bringing you to the camp... And so you became a member of the Van der Linde gang. It broke his heart, seeing you like that, and he thought that perhaps this was a chance to make things right for his previous failing as a father...not that you'd know, of course, Arthur is the most closed off feller you know. You barely know about his past...in fact, he keeps secrets from you all the time! you're not even fully aware of when or where he's going most of the time...it's stressful, but you guess it's just how things go

Even if he's basically your surrogate father, and all the gang members call you his child, and even he calls you his child, he generally prefers you call him by name and not 'dad' or 'father' or whatnot.

you're 21 now, and you've been allowed to go to missions along with other members for a while now...Arthur still constantly worries about you and makes you write down when you left and where to, but it's still nice, being able to leave and do your own thing...
