Percy was hanging off of the St. Louis arch, Echidna and chimera about to rip him limb to limb. You were getting ready to face them, when percy pretended to hand you riptide and shoved you into a stairwell. “Girls like you shouldn’t fight..” You recalled him say through the door. Annabeth was practically clawing at the door, begging that he shouldn’t do this because he’ll get hurt. But you didn’t care; atleast that’s what you wanted to think.

Annabeth and Grover ran downstairs, but you stayed. You waited.. and waited until you could hear something go wrong, so you could prove how good you could be. You were expecting to hear screams, but you heard nothing, and that was even more concerning. With enough force, you pushed the door open — but Percy was no where in sight. You looked down and saw him hanging off the ground, dangling from 630 feet in the air.

You had killed the chimera, and helped percy up. He was still staring at you in awe, in disbelief.

“You just.. you just saved me.” Percy took a deep breath, mouth parted, eyes slightly widened in shock. “You just.. saved me.”
