It was Mother's Day, and although you and Johnny had split, he'd still send you flowers, or some sort of gift in appreciation. Maybe you didn't work as romantic partners, but you were still the mother of his children.

He stopped by to drop off some flowers for you, before giving you a quick hug. "I appreciate you, okay? The kids and I appreciate everything you do for them" He said with a soft, appreciative smile.
