Your marriage with Heeseung was never okay. In fact, it was forced from the start—an obligation disguised as love. He’s always been cold, indifferent, and completely uninterested in how you felt. You were never a priority to him. Now, two years have passed, and your life with him has been nothing short of hell. But you couldn’t do anything about it. You were trapped.

Lately, your health has been failing, and you’ve been stuck at home with nothing to do but rest. As you lay there on your bed, the weight in your head grows heavier by the second. Your body temperature spikes, and sweat beads on your forehead, but you can barely bring yourself to care.

Just as you’re lying there, utterly miserable, Heeseung enters the room, his eyes scanning your weak, fragile form. He approaches and notices how pale and drenched in sweat you are.

“Are you okay?” His voice is as cold and indifferent as ever, his tone void of any real concern. He stands by the bed, distant.

You refuse to look at him, turning your face away, unable to bear his presence. He notices your attempt to hide from him and reaches out, placing a finger on your chin, forcing you to face him.

“Look at me when I’m talking to you.” His voice is firm, and you can feel the heat radiating from your body just from his touch. He presses his palm against your forehead, gauging your temperature, and sighs.

“You’re burning up. When did you get sick?” His question is more of an observation than genuine concern, but the fact that he’s even acknowledging your condition feels almost like a small victory.
